LUZ II: Utility-scale solar thermal electricity power plants

Tower Levels 3,4,5,6 lifted and installed successfully.
On Monday 11th February 2008, LUZ II achieved another major
milestone in the Pilot Plant construction with the lifting and
installation in final location of Tower levels 3,4,5,6 out of a total of
10 levels.

Tower Levels 1,2 assembly and installation in progress.
The assembly and installation activities related to Tower levels 1 and 2 are progressing on schedule.

First Drive Assemblies (Linear + Azimuth) delivered to Pilot.
Azimuth and Linear drives assemblies are performed at Jerusalem
workshop assembly line and delivered to site

30 Dec 2007
First Tower columns delivered to site.
Following intensive design and production activities, the first tower
columns are delivered to site on 30th December 2007.

19 Dec 2007
Tower foundation complete.
Another important Pilot project milestone has been achieved today
19th December 2007 with the completion of the Tower foundation.

28 Nov 2007
Control Room and Visitor Center caravans delivered to site.
The caravans to be used for Control Room and Visitors Center have
been delivered today 28th November 2007 and installed in their final
location.

Mirrors delivery to the site has begun
On Sunday 2nd September 2007, a significant milestone was achieved at the LUZ II Pilot site located within the Rotem Industrial Park with delivery of the first container of 1641 mirrors to be installed as part of the Pilot project.

Pilot plant ground works started!
On July 1st. The ground works for the pilot plant being built near Dimona have started.
